You could never accuse Lady Gaga of not being committed to A Look. If you’ve taken the time out of your busy schedule to watch the Netflix documentary Gaga: Five Foot Two - which is in the canon of, but by no means as Iconic as Madonna’s Truth or Dare - you’ll know that she is serious about being Gaga. And being Gaga - much like her pop-queen predecessor La Madge (or Melly, as Stella McCartney calls her on Instagram) - takes work. Being Gaga is an assimilation of everything - it’s a Full Look. To be Gaga, one must embrace an acute style identity, that may change but will never be anything but absolute. Being Gaga tbh looks kinda exhausting.
